The Czech Republic reported a record number of cyberattacks last year. This was reported by Radio Prague International.

The Czech National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB) registered 268 such incidents, six more than the previous year.

It is noted that the number of such attacks has been increasing each year.

“The most common type of attack is DDoS attacks. Most of these attacks are carried out by Russian-speaking hacker groups, whose DDoS campaigns have become most prominent after Russia's invasion of Ukraine,” said NÚKIB Director Lukáš Kintr.

During a DDoS attack, computers controlled by hackers overload the targeted website with a large number of requests, rendering it inoperable.

This method is one of the most frequently used in the cyberwar that runs parallel to the war in Ukraine.
