Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company has loaded the first 10,000 tons of iron ore for export in the new year.
This was announced by the CEO of UDS, Dmytro Moskalenko.
The first shipment of this year is heading to Serbia, aboard the vessel Kapitan Antypov and five barges.
The contract covers nearly 10,000 tons of iron ore, which is 30% larger than last year's shipment.
Dmytro Moskalenko also explained that previously, the shipping company worked with Danube metallurgists through a foreign intermediary. Specifically, the transportation was carried out by a joint venture in which UDS held a stake. According to the CEO, this was a convenient scheme for accumulating profits from shipments in private accounts abroad.
Now, however, Danube Shipping is exclusively establishing direct contracts. Furthermore, the fleet in operation has been modernized, ensuring not only compliance with delivery schedules but also reducing carbon emissions at all stages of production, including logistics. This is a requirement of the European market and an important factor for large international partner companies, as noted by Dmytro Moskalenko.
