Ukrainian director Mstyslav Chernov has been nominated for the second time for the Directors Guild of America (DGA) Award for his documentary film “2000 Meters to Andriivka”, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
Chernov, with “2000 Meters to Andriivka”, is competing for the 2025 DGA Award “for outstanding achievement in documentary directing.”
Alongside the Ukrainian documentarian, other nominees in this category include Geeta Gandbhir (The Perfect Neighbor), Sarah Hagi and Mohammadreza Eyni (Cutting Through Rocks), Elizabeth Lo (Mistress Dispeller), and Laura Poitras and Mark Obenhaus (Cover-Up).
The American Directors Guild announced the nominees in the categories of “Television,” “Documentary,” and “Commercials” for the 2026 DGA Awards on Wednesday, January 7.
The 78th annual awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 7 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

Chernov’s film “2000 Meters to Andriivka” will represent Ukraine at the 98th Academy Awards in the category of Best International Feature Film.
“2000 Meters to Andriivka” explores the consequences of the Russia-Ukraine war through a personal and deeply human perspective. The director focuses on Ukrainian soldiers—who they are, where they come from, and the incredibly difficult decisions they must make in the trenches while fighting for every inch of their homeland.
