On the night of February 5, Ukrainian drones arrived in the Krasnodar region. The Albashneft oil depot, located in the Krasnodar region, was attacked by drones. The depot belongs to a Russian oil refinery capable of processing up to 320,000 tons of oil annually.
This was reported by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, on Telegram.
"The attacked 'Albashneft' oil depot in the Krasnodar region belongs to an oil refinery capable of processing up to 320,000 tons of oil per year. The main products are straight-run gasoline, diesel fuel, and fuel oil. It is supplied to the Russian armed forces. This is yet another logistical object of the Russian military," Kovalenko noted.
Governor Veniamin Kondratiev stated that the attack was repelled, but in the village of Novominskaya in the Kanevsky district, "debris fell on a tank with minor remnants of petroleum products." A fire broke out, which was assigned the second level of complexity. A total of 55 people and 19 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
Kondratiev assured that the fire was localized by 3:00 AM. However, sources from the Telegram channel Astra reported that as of 6:15 AM, the oil depot was still burning. The "Albashneft" website states that this is "the only oil refinery in the Kanevsky district," and its main activity is the production of petroleum products, including straight-run gasoline, diesel fuel, and fuel oil. The refinery has eight tanks with volumes ranging from 9,000 to 10,300 cubic meters.
Since the beginning of the year, attacks on Russian fuel and energy sector (FES) facilities have become regular. At least twice, oil refineries have been targeted, including "Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka," one of the largest producers of petroleum products in the Southern Federal District. Another target was "Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez."
On February 3, the Astrakhan gas processing plant (GPZ) of Gazprom was damaged, forcing it to halt motor fuel production for several months. Additionally, Ukrainian drones attacked "Rosneft" refineries in the Voronezh, Kaluga, and Ryazan regions. Oil depots in the Uzlovsky district of the Tula region and in Engels, Saratov region, were also targeted. Production of liquefied gases in Kazan was also affected. One of the drones allegedly attempted to strike the Smolensk nuclear power plant, according to Russian authorities.
