US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced the provision of a $150,000 grant from USAID to Esper Bionics to address prosthetic needs. This was stated in a press release from USAID provided to Ukrinform.
"Today, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that the USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine Program will provide a $150,000 grant to Esper Bionics, which manufactures innovative robotic prosthetics for Ukrainian veterans and individuals worldwide with limb differences," the statement said.
This grant will enable Esper Bionics to create 20 new jobs, increase sales by $2 million over the next year, and secure additional investments in the company's activities totaling $2 million.
Esper Bionics is an engineering and technical company that has been manufacturing bionic prosthetics since 2019 and has received numerous accolades. Its headquarters are located in New York, with engineering, design, and production units in Kyiv.
The company produces robotic prosthetics, including the world's first robotic hand prosthesis that utilizes artificial intelligence and cloud data storage.
In May 2022, the company launched the Esper for Ukraine programme, which allows Ukrainian veterans to obtain Esper Hand prosthetics at a more affordable price, providing support for patients with limb amputations during prosthetic fitting and use.
