On the commission by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis, together with a group of foreign ambassadors, visited the town of Izyum in Kharkiv Oblast, de-occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The delegation had the opportunity to see the consequences of the war crimes of the Russian invaders, crimes against humanity and the genocide of the Ukrainian population by the Russians.

"The world must know the truth about the bloody crimes of the occupiers. That is why it is extremely important that today foreign diplomats have the opportunity to see what the Russian occupants leave behind. We emphasize that the Russian military-political leadership must be punished for the crime of armed aggression against Ukraine," said Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha.

Foreign diplomats inspected the mass burial site of Ukrainians tortured and executed by the Russian occupiers on the outskirts of Izyum. So far, 436 bodies have been exhumed, including 5 children bodies, most of them have signs of violent death.

"Ukraine will take all possible measures to make the Russian Federation bear responsibility. All Russian criminals must face international justice for the war crimes they committed on the territory of our country. It is of crucial importance to create a Special Tribunal to hold Russia accountable for its aggression against Ukraine," Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevhen Perebyinis emphasized.

The delegation included the Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine and the heads and representatives of diplomatic missions of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Spain, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Sweden, Slovakia, Switzerland, Turkey, Poland, Slovenia, France and Denmark.

The visit became one of the elements of the efforts made under the leadership of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to hold Russia accountable for crimes of aggression, genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Ukraine.
