In October, Ukraine's gross natural gas production increased by 2.3% year-over-year, reaching 1.663 billion cubic meters—the highest monthly production level since January 2022, according to ExPro's calculations. The average daily output in October was 53.6 million cubic meters, a 1.3% rise from September, marking the highest daily rate since February 2022.
Over the first ten months of 2024, Ukraine produced nearly 15.85 billion cubic meters of gas, up 2% from 2023 and 2.7% from 2022. Specifically, Ukrgazvydobuvannya increased its output by 1.6%, producing 1.24 billion cubic meters in October 2024 and totaling 12.1 billion cubic meters for the year—a 5.4% rise from the previous year.
Meanwhile, Ukrnafta boosted production by 4.6% to 96.4 million cubic meters in September, reaching 967 million cubic meters year-to-date, a 7% increase from 2023. Private companies also saw a 4.4% increase year-over-year in October, producing 324 million cubic meters. However, private gas production for 2024’s first ten months decreased by 12% to 2.75 billion cubic meters.
ExPro forecasts a 2.2% increase in total gas production for 2024, with an expected annual total of 19.1 billion cubic meters, equivalent to an additional 420 million cubic meters.
