The Government has adopted a protocol decision on urgent construction of military engineering and technical fortifications for the needs of defense in certain regions. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

Thus, the Ministry of Defense, together with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, the Ministry of Economy, the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and the relevant regional military administrations, were tasked to ensure the construction of military engineering and technical fortifications for defense needs in certain regions, in particular, using funds under the relevant program of the Ministry of Defense.

“Also, after the regional military administrations have identified their needs, proposals to increase funding should be submitted to the Government meeting,” the Head of Government noted.

The Minister of Defense has also been tasked to hold a coordination meeting with representatives of relevant ministries and agencies.

According to the Prime Minister, this decision should ensure the prompt construction of fortifications for defense purposes where necessary.
