Ukraine's first "unicorn," the company Grammarly, is acquiring Coda, a company known for its cloud-based, multi-user document editor of the same name. According to Coda's CEO Shishir Mehrotra, the two companies will merge under his leadership.
"Coda is merging with Grammarly, the trusted AI assistant for communication and productivity. Together, we will build the AI-native suite of the future. And I’m honored to lead the combined companies as CEO," Mehrotra wrote in his blog on Coda's official website.
The new leader of the companies noted that they share a common vision for the future, where artificial intelligence will reshape every business application and workflow.
Mehrotra also announced that Grammarly will integrate with Coda's AI assistant, Coda Brain, making the tool "smarter" and "more useful."
"Second, we’ll be working on unifying Coda Docs and the Grammarly Assistant to provide users with a flexible home to work. The Coda Docs you know and love will continue to work as they do now but will get supercharged with the Grammarly Assistant seamlessly blended through the experience. And Grammarly’s ubiquitous Assistant will continue to provide immense value in every surface you work on, but now your work will also have a natural AI-native home," Mehrotra wrote
Additionally, Grammarly Assistant will merge with Coda Docs, potentially leading to improvements in the company's text editor.
