In Brussels, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic Kyriakos Mitsotakis signed an Agreement on Security Cooperation.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Greece has been providing military assistance to Ukraine, including logistical support and training. With this agreement, the Hellenic Republic confirms its readiness to continue meeting Ukraine’s most urgent defense needs.

Together with its partners, Greece will provide additional resources to accelerate the training of Ukrainian pilots and technical personnel for F-16 aircraft.

Furthermore, the agreement encompasses economic partnership, cooperation in the field of security, support for sanctions against the Russian Federation, holding the aggressor state accountable, and compensation for damages, as well as interaction in the fields of culture, education, and the arts.

Greece commits to participating in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Ukraine, supports future membership in the EU and NATO, and endorses the Peace Formula.

The document was signed in implementation of the Joint Declaration of the G7, adopted in Vilnius on July 12, 2023. Overall, Ukraine has already signed 27 bilateral agreements: with the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Denmark, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, Latvia, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Japan, the USA, the EU, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Luxembourg, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Ireland, and Greece.
