On the ninth day of the World Games, the penultimate day, our team won five medals – three gold, one silver and one bronze.

On Saturday, July 16, Ukrainians climbed the podium in three sports: acrobatics, water skiing and jiu-jitsu.

Ukrainian Danylo Filchenko became the best in ski jumping on water skis. This is his second medal at these World Games – the day before he took “silver” in the discipline of figure skating in water skiing.

Our athletes won two more medals in sports acrobatics. Bohdan Pogranichny and Danilo Stetsyuk won gold in the men’s pair. And the women’s team consisting of Victoria Kunitskaya, Alexandra Malchuk and Daria Pomyanovska won the “bronze” of the World Games.

In addition, Ukrainians won two medals in jiu-jitsu. Bogdan Mochulsky became the champion in the weight up to 62 kg, and Bogdana Golub became the silver medalist of the World Games in the Ne-Waza discipline (weight up to 63 kg).

The day before the end of the competition, our team has 39 medals: 13 gold, 11 silver and 15 bronze. This is the absolute record of Ukraine at one World Games.

Even earlier, Ukrainians surpassed the figure of 2009 (29 medals) in terms of the total number of medals, and now they have also beaten the achievement of 2017 in terms of gold medals – then our athletes managed to win 10 awards of the highest standard.
