Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has begun supplying 2,600 tons of steel pipe for the construction of foundations along the Mediterranean Core Corridor, a major infrastructure route linking seaports in southern Spain with eastern Europe.
The order includes pipes of various dimensions, with diameters ranging from 114.3 mm to 244.5 mm and wall thicknesses between 8 mm and 25 mm. The products are manufactured from S355J2H steel grade, which is widely used in bridge and structural construction due to its high strength and resistance to low temperatures. Interpipe has already shipped approximately one quarter of the total volume.
According to Massimo Marrama, Senior Pipe Sales Manager for the European Market at Interpipe, the customer required pipes cut to multiple specific lengths to meet the technical needs of the project.
“Cut to particular measurements, our product will help optimize the production process of piles and micropiles,” Marrama said. “The construction sector is definitely an interesting segment in the Italian market, and our reliability in long-term projects will open new opportunities for our products, especially as several major infrastructure projects are expected in the coming years.”
The Mediterranean Core Corridor is part of Europe’s strategic transport network, aimed at improving connectivity and freight movement across key regions of the continent.
