Iryna Mudra, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, spoke about the progress of judicial reform at the conference "A Decade of Transformation Towards a Fair Future: Implementation of Anti-Corruption and Rule of Law Reforms in Ukraine with the Support of the EU".

"Despite the war and the daily pain and losses, we continue to implement the reforms initiated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in 2019. The main bodies of judicial governance — the High Council of Justice and the High Qualification Commission of Judges — were formed on a completely new competitive basis. All candidates were tested for integrity and compliance with the professional ethics criteria. Recognized international experts were involved in the selection process," emphasized Iryna Mudra.

The Deputy Head of the Office of the President noted that on the way to the implementation of the judicial reform, it was possible to restore the disciplinary function of the High Council of Justice, to introduce an unprecedented open competition for the positions in the Constitutional Court and to improve the procedures for the selection of candidates for judges' seats.

"I would like to emphasize that we are fully committed to our obligations to complete the judicial reform," she said.

Iryna Mudra also highlighted the importance of creating and launching international mechanisms aimed at restoring justice for our country. This includes the compensation for the victims of the Russian invasion and the prosecution of all those responsible for the war in Ukraine.
