A new package of Italian military aid to Ukraine will be delivered before the G7 summit in Puglia, which is set to open on June 13. This is what the government of Giorgia Meloni has decided during the difficult hours of the Russian offensive against Chasiv Yar.
This was reported by La Repubblica.
According to sources in the executive branch, Italy's ninth aid package will include SAMP/T, an effective air defense system necessary for Ukraine to defend its capital and major urban centers.
The only system available to Rome is the one that has long been in the arsenal of Slovakia: it has been chosen for delivery.
Two installations will defend Italy, including during the G7 summit in Borgo Egnazia. One will be kept in reserve, again for the country's defense. The fourth installation is located in Kuwait and will remain there for some time.
