According to preliminary assessments, the workshops of the enterprise in Mukachevo hit by Russian missiles are beyond repair.
This was reported by the head of the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration, Myroslav Biletsky, during a press briefing on August 21.
“According to preliminary estimates, the factory buildings that were struck (by Russian missiles) are beyond restoration,” he said.
Earlier, the deputy head of the Zakarpattia RMA, Vasyl Ivancho, stated that Russian terrorists destroyed the Mukachevo enterprise, which was one of the largest employers in Zakarpattia.
“The functioning of the factory supported thousands of families, as nearly 2,600 specialists were employed here. Last year, this production paid over 340 million hryvnias in taxes, and in the first seven months of this year — more than 285 million hryvnias,” Ivancho said.
He added that American investments in the company amounted to about $24.5 million.
On August 21, around 4:40 a.m., Russian forces carried out a missile strike on the enterprise in Mukachevo, Zakarpattia region, causing a fire. According to the prosecutor’s office, the strike was carried out with two Kalibr missiles. It took about 14 hours to contain the fire, which is still being extinguished.
So far, 19 people have been reported injured as a result of the missile attack.
