The Ukraine of the future is a reliable partner and ally for the U.S., as we have one of the strongest armies on the continent, unique military experience, particularly in using cutting-edge technologies, and attractive prospects for business in the defense industry.
This was stated by the Head of the Ukrainian Military Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, during his welcoming speech at the American-Ukrainian Business Forum held on February 5, 2025, as part of the Ukrainian Week in Washington.
The event, organized by the American-Ukrainian Business Council in collaboration with the Atlantic Council, brought together representatives from business, government, and industry experts.
"Post-war Ukraine will have one of the strongest armies on the continent, as well as unique experience, technologies, and a powerful defense industry. This means that the private sector will have ample opportunities for scaling defense production. Businesspeople from the U.S. and Ukraine, as well as our governments, are already working closely in this direction," said Kyrylo Budanov.
He reminded that one of the main reasons for Russia's war against Ukraine is to seize our country, our natural resources, and defense industry to later use them against Western countries. He emphasized that Ukraine appreciates the significant support from the American people in the fight against the aggressor state, Russia.
Kyrylo Budanov stressed that with this support, Ukraine will be able to become the U.S.'s main ally in the region and a reliable partner in the new global reality, where freedom and security are steadfast values.
