Lithuania has decided to allocate at least 0.25% of its GDP to support Ukraine's security and defense efforts. President Gitanas Nauseda announced this decision on Twitter, following the State Defense Council's meeting on Wednesday.
"Lithuania will continue to stand firmly with Ukraine until victory. We will always support freedom," emphasized Nauseda.
Earlier reports indicated that Lithuania allocated an additional 136 million euros for defense, raising its defense budget to over 3% of GDP.
Lithuania already ranks among the NATO countries spending the most on defense relative to the size of its economy.
