The Norwegian government has decided to allocate up to 967 million kroner (approximately 87.5 million dollars) for four new projects aimed at increasing production capacity.

This was reported by the Norwegian Ministry of Defense's press service.

"We will increase support for innovation in Norwegian defense companies developing equipment for Ukraine, support Nammo's plans to create a new production line for rocket engines, strengthen the Norwegian supply chain for explosives, and explore the possibility of establishing a new military explosives production plant in Norway," said Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram.

For small and medium-sized companies developing technologies for Ukraine
The government will increase support for Norwegian small and medium enterprises by 342 million kroner (about 31 million dollars). The expanded program is managed by the Norwegian Defense Research Establishment (FFI).

Companies can apply for funding for the industrial production of technologies that may be useful to the Ukrainian armed forces.

Support for Nammo's new rocket engine line
The government has also decided to co-finance the fourth production line for rocket engines at Nammo's factory in Raufoss. These engines are used in most air defense systems produced in Germany and the United States.

Nammo already has two production lines, and a third is under construction with government and EU support. The goal of the new funding is to raise capital for the construction of a fourth line.

Funding for hexamine production for explosives
The government has proposed co-financing the production of hexamine, an important component for creating modern explosives. Norway is one of the few Western countries producing these explosives, which are in demand by Ukraine for defense against Russia.

Exploring the possibility of a new explosives production plant
Together with the company Chemring Nobel, the government has initiated a study to assess the possibility of establishing a new military explosives production plant in Norway.
