Odessa airport runway equipment is officially certified according to category II. This will make it possible to receive aircraft in adverse weather conditions.

The State Aviation Service of Ukraine has certified the equipment of the runway of the Odessa International Airport according to the II category.

As explained at the airport, this will allow aircraft to carry out an approach with a relative decision height of less than 60 m, but not less than 30 m and with a visibility range of at least 300 m.

From now on, this category allows you to take flights in adverse weather conditions.

In July 2021 Odessa airport received the first passenger flight on the new runway. The new runway can accommodate wide-body aircraft, including Boeing 767, Airbus A330, and in the future - Boeing 777 and 787.
