The national championship was held in Dnipro, according to the regional office of the National Olympic Committee.

Three medals, including two silver and one bronze, were brought to Odessa by the 16-year-old pupil of the Dynamo sports school Alexey Grabarov. Another medal, bronze, was won by 15-year-old Ekaterina Karanikolova from FSO Dynamo.

At a distance of 200 meters on the back, Alexey Grabarov, in addition to becoming the second, also set a personal record - 2.02.09.
