The OKKO Group, which includes the operator of the eponymous gas station network Concern Galnaftogaz, plans to have approximately 600 MW of wind energy capacity, 200 MW of solar energy, and 150 MW of energy storage installations (ESI) within the next five years, said OKKO GROUP CEO and co-founder of GORO Mountain Resort Vasyl Danilyak.

“In energy, roughly in five years, we see ourselves with about 600 MW in wind, 200 MW in solar, and approximately 150 MW in batteries. Some of these targets we have already achieved,” he said.

He also added that in the agricultural sector, which is a very interesting business, the group sees its key performance indicator (KPI) as increasing efficiency per hectare.

At the same time, he denied any plans for the group’s fuel business to enter public capital markets but suggested that this might be possible to some extent for other business areas.

“We considered the public capital market for our main retail business. Now it’s impossible because the fuel business has become an unfashionable, toxic story for capital markets, banks, and microfinance organizations. But if we talk about other businesses, most likely, these will not be classic public capital markets but possibly specialized large funds operating in those specific sectors. That is more realistic,” said OKKO’s CEO.

As reported, the OKKO Group is building the Ivanichi wind power plant with a capacity of 147 MW in the Volyn region, with a total cost of EUR 225 million (excluding VAT), and is seeking financing for its second wind energy project in this region — the Zaturyntsi wind power plant with 192 MW capacity, estimated at EUR 250 million (excluding VAT).

The group also won a five-year special auction held by the National Energy Company Ukrenergo for providing energy system balancing services, for which it proposed a 20 MW energy storage installation (ESI).

Additionally, the group plans to open a new elevator with a capacity of 60,000 tons by autumn 2025 and a bioethanol plant in summer 2026. An important part of OKKO’s agricultural portfolio is its partnership with the enterprise "Hadzi-Agro" in the Ternopil region, whose capital the company joined in 2023. The enterprise cultivates 26,000 hectares of land and has about 10,000 heads of cattle, including 5,000 dairy cows. It is also one of Ukraine’s largest horticultural farms, though OKKO decided not to integrate the part of the business related to horticulture.

OKKO Group unites over 10 diversified businesses in production, trade, construction, insurance, services, and other sectors. The flagship company of the group is Concern Galnaftogaz, which operates one of Ukraine’s largest fuel station networks under the brand OKKO, counting nearly 400 fueling stations.

The founder and ultimate beneficiary of the group is Vitaliy Antonov.
