The Russian occupiers have suffered huge losses in Donbas since the beginning of the full-scale offensive. The Ukrainian Defense Forces almost completely destroyed two elite brigades of invaders there.

The General Staff decided to expose its rear and urgently form and transfer two battalion tactical groups to the East of Ukraine from among the 39 OMSBR, which is stationed near Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

So for more than a month now, the Ukrainian military, border guards, police, SSU, and National Guard fighters have been helping to demilitarize the Kuril Islands, which is originally Japanese territory.
