The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine presented plans for the procurement of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for 2025.
The relevant presentation took place during a meeting with representatives of the Technological Forces of Ukraine association – a union of leading manufacturers of innovative weaponry for defense needs.
Participants discussed scaling up the production and supply of UAV systems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as streamlining bureaucratic procedures to allow for quicker integration of new drone models into military units.
"Ensuring a technological advantage over the enemy is one of the key tasks for 2025. While last year the main financial resources were allocated to the procurement of long-range deepstrike systems, this year, over 44 billion UAH is planned for the purchase of FPV drones, including models for fiber-optic use," noted Gleb Kanievskyi, Director of the Ministry of Defence's Procurement Policy Department.
The meeting also focused on reducing the time needed to deliver drones from production to combat units and expanding the circle of suppliers and manufacturers of defense products.
