EU countries will continue training Ukrainian troops and developing the European defense industry in cooperation with Kyiv.

This was stated by Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during a press conference following the informal meeting of EU defense ministers in Warsaw on Thursday.

He emphasized that the European Union remains united in its support for Kyiv, aiming to restore peace in Ukraine. Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that the EU has been training Ukrainian soldiers under the EUMAM mission almost since the start of Russia’s full-scale aggression.

"These initiatives will continue as long as they are needed — as long as Ukraine needs our support. This declaration comes from almost every country, with only a minor exception," he stressed.

The Polish Deputy PM also highlighted that the EU will work to build up its defense industry in partnership with Ukrainian counterparts.

He pointed to the importance of the "white Paper" in strengthening the EU’s defense capacity.
