Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania have agreed to transfer veterinary, sanitary, and phytosanitary controls from the Ukrainian-Polish border to the port of Klaipeda in Lithuania. This decision was reached during an online meeting on the morning of October 3, as announced by Ukraine's Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Mykola Solsky, and the Agriculture Ministers of Poland and Lithuania, according to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

"Within the next two days, veterinary, sanitary, and phytosanitary controls at the Ukrainian-Polish border will be transferred to the port of Klaipeda (Lithuania) for all agricultural cargo destined for this port. This will expedite transit through Poland," the statement reads.

The Ministers of Poland and Lithuania emphasized that their governments support this mechanism of control and consider it a constructive step.

"We have reached an important agreement. Starting from Wednesday, checks on Ukrainian grain transiting through Lithuania will be moved from the Ukrainian-Polish border to Lithuanian territory and the port," said the Polish Minister, as quoted by RMF 24.

He emphasized that "this is a good development for building this transit route, for constructing this corridor of solidarity, which we, as Poland, have built in Europe."

The Ukrainian Ministry stated that Ukraine proposed transferring veterinary, sanitary, and phytosanitary controls from the Ukrainian-Polish border to the Lithuanian port, and the governments of Poland and Lithuania supported this mechanism of control, considering it a constructive step.
