Vice Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Poland, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, announced on Friday in an interview with Polish Radio that Poland will declare the operational readiness of the first stage of the NATO-Ukraine Training Center in Bydgoszcz, northern Poland, during the NATO summit.
"We will announce the operational readiness of the first stage of the NATO-Ukraine Training Center in Bydgoszcz at the NATO summit," stated Kosińak-Kamysz.
He emphasized that this center is the first of its kind and holds significant importance. Following the NATO summit, the Alliance will assume a greater role in coordinating assistance to Ukraine.
Kosińak-Kamysz noted that this assistance includes supplying arms and training Ukrainian military personnel, with some countries expressing interest in deploying their training missions to Ukraine.
However, Poland intends to continue training Ukrainians on its territory, having already trained 20,000 Ukrainian military personnel to date.
