Russia was preparing a major railway disaster on the Warsaw–Dorohusk line, where two acts of sabotage occurred on November 15 and 16, damaging tracks and undermining the railway bed, according to Polish intelligence services, as reported by TVN24.

Investigators say the saboteurs’ actions could have led to mass casualties among passengers, including a train carrying 475 people.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the saboteurs acted in the interests of Russian intelligence and left Poland via Terespol after the attacks. European arrest warrants have already been issued for them, photos published, and an international search is underway.

These actions are part of a growing wave of subversive activity. In the past two months, security services have recorded an increasing number of sabotage attempts, detentions, and arrests linked to Russian operations in Poland.

Security coordinator Tomasz Semoniak stated that the perpetrators were professionals in the worst sense and had nothing to do with small-time arson mercenaries. He emphasized that the operation was designed for severe consequences and accounted for the possibility of a large-scale disaster.

Semoniak noted that Russia decided to strike Poland due to its confidence in success in the war against Ukraine. According to him, Moscow believes Western fatigue creates conditions to pressure countries supporting Ukraine. He also added that the Russians are confident in their advantage and hope to impose an unfavorable peace deal on Ukraine.

The minister stressed that every attempt at such an act is treated with the utmost seriousness because it always carries a risk of casualties.
