On Wednesday, July 27, in Kyiv, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Tanja Fajon. The parties discussed the intensifying and development of bilateral cooperation.

"I highly commend our cooperation with the Government of Slovenia, which has always supported Ukraine. I am convinced that joining efforts we can bring our Ukrainian-Slovenian intergovernmental dialogue to a higher level," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked Slovenia for condemning russia's full-scale military aggression against our country, as well as for staunch support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Denys Shmyhal also praised Slovenia's support for all seven European Union sanctions packages against the russian federation.

"We also hope for Slovenia's support of Ukraine's initiative to conclude a corresponding international treaty on the establishment of a special tribunal to punish the crime of aggression against Ukraine. We are grateful to more than 40 countries, including Slovenia, for the joint statement regarding Ukraine's lawsuit against russia at the UN International Court of Justice," said the Head of the Ukrainian Government.

In addition, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Slovenia for its contribution to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities in the face of a full-scale russian invasion, in particular for providing military aid from the first days of the war. Denys Shmyhal emphasized the importance of speeding up the supply of weapons in order to stop the enemy and begin the liberation of temporarily occupied territories.

The parties, among other things, touched upon issues of support for forced refugees, assistance in demining and restoration of Ukrainian territories.

Vice Prime Minister Tanja Fajon emphasized that Slovenia would continue to support Ukraine. According to the top official, Slovenia is preparing a new aid package for Ukraine, and is also ready to start new programs, in particular, regarding the rehabilitation of Ukrainians who suffered from the war.

To sum up, Denys Shmyhal renewed the invitation to Prime Minister of Slovenia Robert Golob to visit Ukraine.
