Unfortunately, among the dead were 22 children of Metinvest employees, the youngest of them was not even a year old.

On February 24, a full-scale military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine began. The enterprises of Metinvest Group, located near the front line, immediately found themselves at the forefront of resistance to the enemy. From the first day of the war, the company began to help civilians, employees and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Unfortunately, during the eight months of the war, the Metinvest family had to pay a huge price in the fight for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. 501 employees of the company and family members of employees died due to hostilities. Among them are 140 people who gave their lives defending Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and 361 civilians. Unfortunately, among the dead were 22 children of Metinvest employees, the youngest of them was not even a year old.

Thanks to the heroism of the company's specialists, it was possible to protect the cities on the front line from an environmental disaster. Production at the enterprises in Mariupol and Avdiivka was suspended and mothballed in time. Unfortunately, most employees died in Mariupol and Avdiivka. Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih, Kamenskoye, Pokrovsk, and other cities did not bypass the sad news. The families of the victims received material and psychological assistance from the company.

On October 31, on the 250th day of the war, a minute of silence will be held at all enterprises of Metinvest Group during meetings with employees to remember the dead.

Also in the first eight months of the war, 593 employees and their families were wounded. In addition to financial assistance, the company is making efforts for the speedy recovery of members of our large family. Victims are provided with medical assistance as part of humanitarian initiatives and insurance programs that are valid for all employees of the Group.

We add that 7,000 Metinvest employees have joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and continue defending the country from the aggressor. The company provides mobilized employees with personal protective equipment - helmets and body armor.
