In Zakarpattia, a multimodal logistics hub called "Horonda Platform" will be established for exporting grain to EU countries. This was announced by the press service of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration. Italian investors plan to build the "dry port" in the village of Horonda in the Mukachevo district.
"The emergence of such a land-based grain corridor in our region is a priority task of national importance. This project is particularly important in the conditions of the war," emphasized Viktor Mykita, the head of the regional administration.
According to him, the logistics hub will contribute to the development of the export potential of the region and the country as a whole, allowing local agricultural producers to expand their external markets.
The project includes creating opportunities for transloading agricultural products from a wide gauge to a narrow gauge, establishing warehouse spaces, and providing the center with containers for grain, sunflower oil, and more.
It is expected that thanks to the "Horonda Platform," over 200 new jobs will be created in the region.
Italian companies participating in the project include FS Holding, Mercitalia Rail, and Mercitalia Terminal.
