In Lithuania, the traditional campaign to support Ukraine, "Radarom!", has been launched, with funds being collected for the purchase of drones and anti-drone systems for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The campaign will run until February 24, reports LTR.
Organized by the public broadcaster, along with Blue/Yellow, Laisves TV, and Stiprus kartu, the initiative will fund the purchase of equipment produced in Lithuania and Ukraine.
"We can be proud that over the past year, the Lithuanian defense industry has developed high-tech and promising drones and anti-drones. We decided, together with our campaign partners, that they should be a special focus of Radarom!" said LRT CEO Monika Garbačiauskaitė-Budrienė.
Two-thirds of the funds raised in the "Radarom!" campaign will go toward purchasing drones and anti-drones from Lithuania, while one-third will go toward Ukrainian drones and anti-drones, selected by the Blue/Yellow organization.
"By allocating part of the funds to drones of Ukrainian manufacture, we ensure that the aid will be used very quickly. At the start of the campaign, drones can be immediately transferred to the Ukrainian military for combat operations, and our organization will ensure a seamless process," said Blue/Yellow founder Jonas Oman.
Anyone can contribute by calling the special short number 1890, visiting the campaign's page at radarom.lrt.lt, or using the Paypal payment system at [email protected].
During the first "Radarom!" campaign in 2023, over 14 million euros were raised, which helped purchase 17 radar systems.
Last year, over 8 million euros were raised to purchase more than 1,000 safety kits for Ukrainian servicemen.
