46 Parallel Wine Group is building a winery in the Kyiv region, aiming to establish the area as a promising winemaking hub.
The company announced the project on Facebook, highlighting its commitment to expanding Ukrainian winemaking and fostering local production.
“We believe Ukraine has immense potential in winemaking and strive to prove that Ukrainian wines can rival the world’s best. We invest in quality, respect traditions, and follow market dynamics to ensure that every bottle of our wine carries a piece of Ukrainian soil, the dedication of our winemakers, and impeccable taste,” the company stated.
Over the past five years, wines have won over 100 awards at international and national tasting competitions, ranked among the Top 24 Ukrainian wines, and received top honors at prestigious global wine contests, including:
- Concours Mondial de Bruxelles
- Decanter World Wine Awards
- London Wine Competition
- USA Wine Ratings
- Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada
For three consecutive years, 46 Parallel Wine Group has held the prestigious Ukrainian Wine Ambassador status, representing Ukraine at La Cité du Vin, the world’s largest wine museum in Bordeaux, France.
At the end of 2024, the company became part of Big Wines, a subsidiary of the international holding Vinos de La Luz in Ukraine. This merger marks a significant step in the development of Ukrainian winemaking, demonstrating its potential and readiness for global recognition.
“This is more than just a business move—it’s a signal to the world that Ukraine is a winemaking nation with a future,” the company emphasized.
Despite the challenges of war, Vinos de La Luz and its founder, Ricardo F. Núñez, reaffirm their belief in Ukraine, its capabilities, and its people.
Natalia Burlachenko, owner of 46 Parallel Wine Group, added:
“We have taken our first major steps toward large-scale development. We have acquired vineyards in Bessarabia, in the village of Shabo, as well as promising plots in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions. We are also actively restoring old vines and conducting detailed micro-terroir studies, as we believe true quality starts with the soil, climate, and vine care. Our ambitious goal is to build our own winery in the Kyiv region, where we plan to concentrate production, create high-quality Ukrainian wines, and develop this area into a thriving viticultural zone. We are confident that Kyiv region has great winemaking potential and want Ukraine to discover another region capable of producing true wine masterpieces.”
