On the night of June 16 (starting from 9:00 p.m. on June 15), the Russian forces launched an attack using 138 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and various types of decoy drones from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, and Shatalovo in the Russian Federation.
The main direction of the attack was the Donetsk region.
The aerial assault was repelled by Ukrainian Defense Forces using aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare (EW) and drone units, and mobile fire groups.
As of 8:00 a.m., air defense had neutralized 125 Shahed-type drones (and other types of UAVs) in the north, east, south, and center of the country. 84 were shot down by firepower, and 41 were lost or suppressed by electronic warfare.
Russian airstrikes hit 10 locations, and debris from downed drones was found in 8 locations.
