On the night of April 19, 2025 (starting at 9:00 p.m. on April 18), Russian forces launched a strike on Ukraine using ground- and air-launched missiles as well as attack UAVs.
According to preliminary data, the Air Force’s radio-technical units detected and tracked 95 enemy aerial threats — 8 missiles of various types and 87 attack UAVs (including decoy drones of other types), specifically:
- 3 Iskander-M ballistic missiles (launched from Crimea);
- 2 Oniks anti-ship missiles (launched from Crimea);
- 3 Kh-31P anti-radar missiles;
- 87 attack UAVs of the Shahed type and other decoy drones (launched from Millerovo, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Hvardiiske in Crimea).
The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 9:00 a.m., 33 Shahed-type (and other types of) attack UAVs were confirmed destroyed over the eastern, northern, and southern regions of the country.
36 decoy drones were lost from tracking (with no negative consequences).
As a result of the enemy attack, the Odessa, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions sustained damage.
