Ukraine and the United States have announced the appointment of an investment advisor to the American-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund — the international consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M).

The announcement of the Fund’s investment advisor took place during the ReBuild Ukraine 2025 conference.

According to Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksii Sobolev, the partner selection process took place in several stages in line with procedures agreed upon by the governments of Ukraine and the United States.

“International companies with experience in managing investment funds, risk management, and financial reporting took part in the process. The submitted proposals were evaluated based on technical, financial, and reputational criteria. The final decision was adopted unanimously by the Governing Board, which includes three representatives from each side,” Sobolev noted.

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is an international consulting group with more than 12,000 employees in 90 offices across 43 countries. The company specializes in financial and operational consulting, investment management, and performance monitoring.

A&M has experience working in sectors such as critical minerals, energy, infrastructure, and ICT, and has implemented projects in Ukraine for both public and private sectors.

As the investment advisor, A&M will provide strategic support to the Fund, including project preparation, due diligence, and financial analysis to identify promising investment opportunities.

The Ministry of Economy emphasized that involving such an international partner in the fund’s management is a key element of strengthening its institutional capacity. It will ensure transparent decision-making, compliance with international audit and compliance standards, and enhance foreign investor confidence.

After the investment advisor is approved, the Fund will move on to selecting an administrator and completing the organizational phase.
