The bodies of five more cetaceans have been discovered over the past two weeks along the coast of Tuzly Lagoons National Nature Park in the Odessa region.

"During monitoring of the coastline of Tuzly Lagoons National Nature Park and adjacent sections of the sandy barrier, the bodies and remains of five more Black Sea cetaceans were discovered over the past two weeks," the statement said.

Scientists estimate that restoring Black Sea marine mammal populations affected by the hostilities could take between 30 and 50 years.

According to Rusev, more than 100,000 Black Sea cetaceans have died as a result of the war over the past four and a half years.

In the past two months alone, 79 dead marine mammals have been found along the national park's coastline.

The causes of their deaths are being investigated in Odessa.
