The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine does not observe any build-up or movement of Belarusian military forces near the state border of Ukraine.
This was stated by the spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, during a TV marathon broadcast.
"All components of the Defense Forces of our country fully control the border line along its entire length from Volyn to Chernihiv, and we have not noted any unusual situations directly on the border. We also do not record the movement of Belarusian military equipment or personnel, nor significant reinforcement of their units in close proximity to our border," Demchenko said.
The spokesperson clarified that Belarusian troops are currently moving within their own territory, remaining at a significant distance from the Ukrainian border.
"This is dozens of kilometers from our border. The distance varies in different areas. Intelligence and the Ministry of Defense, as well as the State Border Guard Service, actively monitor what is happening on the territory of Belarus to understand how the situation is changing and how it might pose a threat to Ukraine, so that the Defense Forces, which reinforce this direction, can respond to any actions," Demchenko emphasized.
He also stressed that attention to the border with Belarus remains extremely important for strengthening Ukraine's defense, and this situation will continue as long as Belarus supports Russia.
"On the territory of Belarus, there has probably never been a period when they did not announce troop checks or conduct exercises, including in previous years jointly with Russian army units, to ensure that Ukraine maintains certain forces and resources in this direction rather than redeploying them to more important areas where full-scale combat operations are ongoing," added the State Border Guard Service spokesperson.
