At the invitation of the Secretary of State for International Trade of the United Kingdom, Ann-Marie Trevelyan, the Trade Representative of Ukraine - Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Taras Kachka took part in the British-Ukrainian Infrastructure Summit in London. The event brought together representatives of the Government of Ukraine and the United Kingdom, as well as British engineering, architectural, and logistics companies, which intend to participate in the implementation of projects for the early reconstruction of Ukrainian infrastructure.
Taras Kachka stressed that Ukraine is launching a series of measures to rebuild destroyed infrastructure with the support of foreign partners. At present, a practical assessment of Ukraine's needs is important, as well as the format of participation of private companies in the reconstruction of Ukrainian infrastructure, and financial and organizational support for such projects by the British Government and other allies of Ukraine.
"Most of the companies that took part in the summit have extensive experience in rebuilding infrastructure in other countries or implementing both temporary and permanent engineering projects, from pontoon crossings to building large infrastructure facilities. These companies have a significant interest in rebuilding infrastructure in Ukraine. And the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine together with the Ministry of Infrastructure and regional administrations will work to ensure proper coordination of actions of all participants in this truly large-scale project,"said Taras Kachka.
He also thanked his British colleagues for supporting Ukraine in defending independence and freedom and implementing major reconstruction projects.
