British intelligence dedicated its review to the Ukrainian strike on the Russian submarine 'Rostov-on-Don,' which resulted in the vessel sinking.
The review was published on X (formerly Twitter) by the UK's Ministry of Defence.
According to the department, while the attack was part of a series of drone strikes, it is likely that ATACMS missiles were used during the strike.
Contrary to some reports, the submarine was most likely not fully repaired following a previous attack on Crimea in September 2023.
British intelligence describes this attack as 'the final chapter in the submarine's story,' noting that it would be economically more viable to build a new submarine rather than repair and refurbish the old one.
Although sinking the submarine is a significant morale boost for Ukrainian forces, it is unlikely to have a major impact on Russia's capability to conduct long-range strikes against Ukraine from the Black Sea, the department noted.
