Russian ground forces have likely achieved a limited breakthrough into the eastern outskirts of Chasiv Yar, a city located approximately 8 km west of Bahmut.

This information was reported by the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom on social media, citing intelligence data.

According to the report, Russian armed forces have also likely gained control over the village of Ivanivske to the southeast of Chasiv Yar. Analysts report that fierce battles are taking place in areas around the city, where Ukrainian Armed Forces are attempting to halt the advance of Russian forces.

"The Russian forces likely remain on the eastern side of the canal that runs through the city, posing an obstacle to their progress. It is highly probable that infantry troops, moving on foot, are being used by the Russian Armed Forces to clear the suburbs, and that the level of casualties among Russian forces is high," analysts believe.

The report, citing Ukrainian armed forces, also mentions an artillery assault on the city using thermobaric munitions.
