Russia has canceled the traditional "Immortal Regiment" marches and parades for May 9th for the second year in a row. One reason for this is that such events could be a venue for expressing dissatisfaction with the war against Ukraine.

Russia has canceled the traditional "Immortal Regiment" marches, but portraits of deceased relatives are proposed to be displayed on cars and in public places from May 1st to May 11th.
Additionally, parades for May 9th have been canceled in the Bryansk, Pskov, Belgorod, Ryazan, and Kursk regions of Russia. Intelligence suggests that Russians fear Ukrainian attacks. The British Ministry of Defense reminded that a drone exploded over the Kremlin a week before May 9th in 2023.
"This is the second year in a row when the 'Immortal Regiment' March is canceled, and parades for Victory Day are scaled down for security reasons. This year, Victory Day is preceded by Putin's inauguration, which will take place on May 7th. The potential for protests and dissatisfaction with the war against Ukraine may also have influenced the calculations of the Russian leadership," the summary said.
