Around 1,000 Austrian companies continue to operate in Ukraine, contributing to the country’s reconstruction and recovery efforts.

This was stated by Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk.

“My message today is simple: Ukraine’s reconstruction will not be a return to the past. It will be an investment in the future,” the chancellor emphasized.

According to Stocker, Austria is ready to share its expertise, innovation, and experience. He noted that Vienna was one of Kyiv’s most important economic partners even before the war. Austrian companies entered the Ukrainian market early and have remained despite the difficult circumstances.

“Today, around 1,000 companies are operating in Ukraine, creating 30,000 jobs. This commitment shows that our solidarity is built through long-term engagement,” Stocker said.

He pointed out that Austrian businesses have extensive experience in sectors that will help shape Ukraine’s future, including sustainable and decentralized energy systems, infrastructure, financial services, and advanced technologies.

The Austrian chancellor also announced that the Ukraine Recovery Conference in 2028 will be held in Vienna.
