The COOSH store in Odessa, designed by Sivak+Partners Studio, was recognized as the best project of the Building of the Year 2024 award by ArchDaily in the 'Commercial Architecture' category.
COOSH, an embodiment of Scandinavian minimalist elegance, stands as a carefully crafted space that invites the visitor to engage with every surface, material, and subtle detail. The brand, rooted in the restrained color palette and clean lines of Scandinavian design, inspired us to reimagine this aesthetic. Rather than simply adopting the minimalist mold, we sought to return to the origins of Scandinavian design, juxtaposing the cold environment with warm, tactile materials that evoke a sense of coziness and comfort.
The play of light within the space is another defining feature. Each shelf is bathed in a gentle LED glow, reminiscent of a comforting bonfire. An LED wall highlights a special selection of Coosh items, drawing the eye and infusing the space with warmth. To further enhance the experience, the showroom's lighting is organized into dimmable groups, enabling us to create the perfect atmosphere for any weather or time of day.
Focusing on the brand's commitment to women's fashion, our goal was to inspire creativity in every visitor. Each piece of furniture is bespoke, with its shape embodying a deeper metaphor. A perfect example of this is the COOSH logo, cleverly reversed on the sofa but reflected correctly in the mirror, subtly nudging guests to think beyond the ordinary.
The centerpiece of the main room is a large, plush sofa inspired by the haylofts of a Scandinavian farm—soft, inviting, and comforting. The backdrop features a rough veneer wall cover, designed to heighten the impact of the space while keeping the imitation understated, allowing the room’s warmth to take center stage.
