On the Pokrovsk front, the Russian army has lost 7,000 soldiers irretrievably and a total of 15,000, including wounded and missing persons.
This was reported by Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the operational-strategic group Khortytsia, during a national telethon.
According to him, the Pokrovsk front remains the most active, with 24 Russian assaults in the past 24 hours. The Russians are attacking to the south and southwest of the city.
"In the Toretsk direction, there were nine attacks near Toretsk, Doliiivka, and Shcherbynivka, with urban battles in Toretsk itself. In the Kramatorsk direction, three engagements near Chasiv Yar and Stupochky. In the Siversk direction, nine attacks in the Spirne, Siversk, and Verkhnokamianske areas," Trehubov said.
He clarified that, according to Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, on the Pokrovsk front, the Russians lost 7,000 soldiers irretrievably and a total of 15,000, including wounded and missing persons.
"During the entire second Chechen war, the Russians had 6,000 killed. So, just around Pokrovsk in January, they lost more soldiers than in the entire second Chechen war," he noted.
Trehubov also mentioned that the Russians are currently committing all their forces and reserves in an attempt to encircle the city. If they manage to cut off the roads leading to the city, at least from the west and southwest, it could signal success for the invaders. However, they are currently unable to achieve this. The Russians are losing a significant number of personnel and equipment in their attempts to cling to small villages southwest of Pokrovsk.
In recent months, Pokrovsk has become the main target for the Russians, who are trying to break through the defenses there. This section of the front is one of the most challenging.
