On August 18, a meeting of the heads of the city's "police" was scheduled in the temporarily occupied Energodar. Approximately at 09:23, a powerful explosion occurred in the office of the police chief. As a result, numerous injuries were sustained, including: the chief of the city's police department, Colonel of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Pavel Valeriiovich Chesanov (Chuvash Republic), his deputy in operational work, the head of the investigative department, the head of the duty unit, and the heads of several subunits. Immediately after the explosion, they were urgently transported to a local hospital.
Following a prompt examination of the injured from the occupied city of Melitopol, three mobile intensive care units were urgently dispatched. Evacuation by military helicopters to the territory of the Russian Federation is planned from there.
The building, apart from housing the "police" administration, was used as accommodation for the occupier personnel. As a result of the explosion, the building suffered significant damage, and the fire spread to the 3rd to 5th floors.
Currently, the area of the incident is blocked. The ability of civilian individuals to move within the city is significantly restricted. The city's internet network has been completely shut down.
