Future Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, stated that his government will demand full mobilization from the West to help Ukraine. He made this statement during a speech in the Sejm, where he presented the action program and the composition of the new government, as reported by Onet.
"I can no longer listen to politicians talking about fatigue from the situation (war) in Ukraine. They tell President (of Ukraine) Zelensky that they are tired of the situation," Tusk noted.
According to him, an attack on Ukraine is an "attack on all of us." Tusk called for a unified voice on Ukraine, which, he believes, should unite Poles.
He added that Poland's assistance to Ukraine is crucial, but at the same time, Warsaw must be persistent when it comes to interests, including those of Polish farmers.
"But we must remember what the war is for. Ukrainians are fighting for something extremely important, a battle that started on Maidan, a fight to join the community of the Western world. They want Ukraine to be a democratic, rule-of-law state like Western countries. And they are fighting for it now," emphasized Tusk.
He also announced that in a few dozen hours, he is heading to Brussels, hoping to convince allies to protect democratic values and Ukraine from Russian aggression.
"Only a united West can help Ukraine win the fight for democratic values," concluded Tusk.
