The Defense Forces’ drones attacked a Russian factory producing electronics for electronic warfare systems.
This was reported by the Astra.
The targeted enterprise was the "Bolkhov Semiconductor Devices Plant" (JSC "BSPP"), located in the Oryol region.
Explosions on the factory premises were heard on the morning of May 21, 2025. Later, photos appeared online, posted by local residents, showing a fire in one of the production buildings on Vasyl Yermakov Street in the city of Bolkhov.
The enterprise specializes in the development and production of semiconductors and other electronic components, which are also used in Russian electronic warfare systems.
In addition, the factory manufactures microchips, semiconductors, indicators, microassemblies, and so-called “eternal batteries” for radio-electronic equipment.
The enterprise cooperates with the Russian defense conglomerate "Sozvezdie" and other entities of the Russian defense-industrial complex, supplying them with these components for further use in communication systems, control systems, and simulators for tanks and missile complexes.
In total, about 700 employees work at this enterprise. The factory itself has been under US sanctions since May 1, 2024.
