Since the beginning of 2025, DTEK miners have put into operation the first two coal seams to ensure that thermal power plants have coal for the winter season.
This was reported by DTEK.
It is noted that DTEK’s coal mining enterprises continue to work to supply coal to thermal power plants, especially during the heating season.
In particular, in January, the company’s miners put two coal seams into operation.
"Our task, as with other generating capacities, is to maintain the reliability of Ukraine's energy system and ensure the power supply for Ukrainians. We must think not only about this heating season but also prepare for the summer consumption peaks and the next winter. We are working as a team—energy workers, miners, and machine builders. We are already introducing coal seams to ensure stable resource supply for our thermal power plants," said DTEK Energy CEO Oleksandr Fomenko.
It is worth noting that in 2024, DTEK, owned by Rinat Akhmetov, invested UAH 7.5 billion in coal production.
These funds were directed towards carrying out and repairing capital mining workings, equipping coal seams, supplying mining machinery, underground transport for the mines, and supporting production capacities.
