Estonia will continue building a defense line on the border with Russia despite the statement by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin regarding the absence of intentions to attack NATO countries.
This was reported by Tagesschau.
Recently, Tucker Carlson conducted an interview with Putin, in which the Russian dictator claimed that Russia supposedly has no intentions of attacking NATO countries.
However, Estonian Minister of Defense Hanno Pevkur stated that the country will not change its defense plans due to allegedly "peaceful" statements by Putin.
"We will not change our plans just because Putin gave an interview to one journalist. Do you really believe Vladimir Putin after what he has said and done all these years?" - said Pevkur.
He reminded that a few days before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia also categorically denied the possibility of an attack.
"We are simply increasing our readiness. And this should be done by everyone. Not only here in Estonia, but in all other countries," - said the minister.
