Quantum Systems, a German manufacturer of reconnaissance drones, plans to double its production in Ukraine this year, according to the Ministry for Strategic Industries following a meeting with the company representatives at the Munich Security Conference.
The company has already established two facilities in Ukraine: a service and logistics center and a drone manufacturing plant. During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to accelerate drone production in the country.
About Quantum Systems
Founded in 2015 and headquartered at a special airport in Oberpfaffenhofen, 20 km west of Munich, Quantum Systems specializes in the development, design, and production of small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The company creates next-generation drones for clients in the defense, security, and public sectors.
"We are strengthening our partners, assisting them at every stage. We all share the same goal — to provide as much high-quality equipment as possible for the Ukrainian military," emphasized Herman Smetanin, head of the Ministry for Strategic Industries.
The Ukrainian minister expressed gratitude to Quantum Systems for their "courage and consistency in their work."
Quantum Systems' drone manufacturing plant, with a capacity of up to 1,000 UAVs per year, including spare parts production, opened in Ukraine in April 2024. It was reported that the German company plans to invest up to 6 million euros in the plant over the next two years.
The Quantum Systems Vector reconnaissance drones have been in operation in Ukraine since May 2022.
The Ukrainian plant is the fourth facility of Quantum Systems.
